When showing homes, we tend to start referring to them by their outstanding features rather than by their address. It is just easier and happens naturally. If we spend an afternoon looking at multiple homes they all start to run together and we start saying things like “The One with the Gorgeous Kitchen” or “The One That Has the Cool Basement”.
If you are selling a home, this can either be a good or a bad thing! We still laugh about how fast our Buyers ran from “The One With All the Creepy Dolls”! Chris still lovingly refers to “The One With the Catfish Farm In the Basement”, even though it has been years since we showed it. Are you getting negative feedback about your condition and price? Be careful you aren’t being talked about as “The One With the Awful Yard” or “The One With All the Different Colors of Carpet”. It is going to cost you a lot in your final sales price if you are remembered as “The One With All the Wallpaper”. You may not get an offer at all if you are “The One With the Funky Smell”!
We want the homes we market to be remembered in a good way, so that we can bring you an attractive offer from a qualified Buyer. Your home should stick in the Buyer’s minds as “The One With the Designer Colors” or “The One Where They Left Us Cookies”. We have a professional stager on our team who will make sure your home is going to stand out in the right ways. Often times what seem like little changes can make for a big first impression. Let’s make sure your home is thought of as “The One We Fell In Love With” and not “The One That Has Been On The Market Forever”
